04.08.10: Two New Postdocs
We just heard from the Estonian Science Foundation that Alexander Zimmermann (Salzburg) and Bianca Boretti (Milan) both successfully applied for postdoc-grants to work in our team. Congratulations! Bianca’s project is titled “Mathematical definitions and logical inference”, Alexander’s is “Argument hierarchies: a case study for logical pluralism”.

27.04.10: Alexander Zimmermann visiting researcher at Theoretical Philosophy
Dr. Alexander Zimmermann, who defended his Dr. phil (with distinction) at the University of Salzburg in 2009 with a dissertation on semantics for first-order theories, will be a visiting researcher at Theoretical Philosophy for the next 4 months. Welcome on board!

I finally managed to get back to Tartu after sitting for two weeks in Dubrovnik, thanks to the Islandic volcano. Anyway, I just updated the Frege Lectures-website (http://daniel.cohnitz.de/index.php?frege), and will send around an official announcement soon.

19.02.10: New Issue of Studia Philosophica Estonica
We just published a new special issue of SPE on “The Role of Intuitions in Philosophical Methodology“. This issue was edited by Sören Häggqvist and me and includes some great papers. CHECK IT OUT!

13.02.10: JGPS on ERIH
The editors of the “Journal for General Philosophy of Science” wrote an editorial in which they are protesting against the “European Reference Index for the Humanities” (ERIH).
